22 August 2025: Enough already! Trump handles World Cup
Donald Trump looks like he does not know what he’s holding” [it’s the World Cup of football aka soccer, the most popular game in the world, Mr. Trump], FIFA President Gianni Infantino can’t contain his excitement but football fans should soon be saying “enough of Donald Trump’s hands on the World Cup.” By now, Trump has been informed that the World Cup is
the biggest single sport event in the world (unlike the “World” Series of baseball,) and his core self-aggrandizement instinct will prompt further attempted appropriation of the event.
It is for true football fans to say hands off but clearly FIFA president Gianni
Infantine
hasn’t been told yet about Trump’s lurid and felonious past. That, or he doesn’t care, given FIFA’s
own documented ethical failings. Is Trump a worthy figure to present the Cup to the
2026 winners? True football fans should say no.
