On Monarchy, Charles, etc. and the worse form of governing - p.s. "Much of the royal family's wealth came from slavery"

Kudos to Share newspaper for its recent (Sept. 22-Oct.5, 2022 issue) thus titled article on the reality, rather than the recently rehashed Hollywood-ish version, of royalty. As writer Patrick Hunter states, there may have been occasional expressions of "regret " for slavery, but no apology yet, and no mention of reparations (now so impossible to compute a $1 token is likely a feasible symbol). The deep scars of injustice never disappear from victims, or victimizers.

Monarchy means rule by one, which is wrong, however you cut it. The best thing any monarch can do, whatever their name, is to end it, starting by resigning. If your name  is Charles you should learn what not to do from your predecessors, I, a treasonous anti-democrat Charles I (above), and Charles II (below #I), a multiple philanderer. Monarchy has often enshrined worse ways, not better.
