Intro Pam Am Resistance Street Performance Workshop
The folks from the Mining Injustice Solidarity Network have an event happening next week:
INTRO TO STREET PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP (PAM AM RESISTANCE):
When: Saturday, July 11th, 2:00-3:15pm
Where: Ryerson University Engineering Building
Workshop run by Kate Klein, Maggie Flynn & Merle Davis from the Mining Injustice Solidarity Network.
The Pan Am Games are hitting the city of Toronto hard this summer, and what a spectacle it all is! Well… we’ve got some spectacle of our own! This workshop is designed to equip participants with some basic street performance skills that will allow them to join MISN (the Mining Injustice Solidarity Network) in a guerilla theatre project called ‘Spoil Sports & Smear Leaders’ at key times and locations throughout the Pan Am Games (July 10-26). This workshop is an opportunity to hear more about what’s wrong with the Pan Am Games, as well as learn some street performance skills like: getting comfortable with being silly! getting people’s attention! having each others’ back! making your face and body big and expressive! All welcome, especially folks looking to expand their comfort zones.
See their event page here for more information and details.
