TorontotheBetter speaks at worker self-management educational at Ryerson University Toronto Anarchist Fair
As an established worker co-operative TorontotheBetter was pleased to be invited to collaborate on a December 15th, 2013 presentation with educator Ajamu Nangwaya. For an audience of about 30 engaged participants Ajamu reviewed the theory and history of worker self-management, starting with Mikhail Bakunin in the nineteenth century, while TorontotheBetter spokesperson Taodhg Burns emphasized the current reality of worker ownership in the 21st century, with flourishing worker-companies across the globe, from Mondragon in Spain, to Chiappas in Mexico, and, of course, our own, and others, in Toronto. The basic message: another world is actual, not just possible.
