TorontotheBetter Visits Peel Poverty Action Group
On January 9th this year, as part of our "Rethinking Social Enterprise" outreach initiative Taodhg Burns of TorontotheBetter was pleased to attend a monthly meeting of PPAG [http://ppag.wordpress.com/] and hear about its programme to combat poverty in Peel region, just west of Toronto. Thanks to Edna Toth of PPAG for the invite.
As the effects of the 2008 economic collapse in Canada, persist, more and more in Toronto's suburbs are suffering and need the vital support of PPAG and other progressive municipal organizations. We met the dedicated members of PPAG and learned about their struggle against the cancellation of an important income support programme for the poor and their extensive programme including the Tough Times newsletter and Places and Spaces video, which we plan to feature in our winter movie series at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. For our part we were pleased to inform members about our efforts to build support for an alternative economic model based on social economy principles. We look forward to future collaboration with PPAG and other fraternal GTA organizations and offer them our solidarity greetings. Our Toronto includes the GTA and we are pleased to report that a significant percentage of enterprises in our directory at http://www.TorontotheBetter.net offer programmes and services for Toronto's poor and otherwise marginalized.

Great post however I was wondering if you could write a litte more on this topic?
I'd be very thankful if you could elaborate a little bit further. Cheers!

I'm not sure why but this website is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a problem on my end? I'll check back later
on and see if the problem still exists.
Look at my weblog ... Static eliminator
