[MSN] Rallies planned worldwide in support of labour rights in Mexico
The Maquila Solidarity Network reports:
"In recent years the few genuinely independent trade unions seeking to improve the lives of Mexican workers have found themselves increasingly under fire. This February, trade unions in Canada and around the world are joining in actions to support the independent trade union movement in Mexico and the right of Mexican workers to be represented by the union of their free choice.
MSN is supporting the days of action, working with Canadian and international trade unions to draw attention to continuing violations of the right to freedom of association in Mexico. In Canada rallies are planned at the Mexican embassy in Ottawa as well as consulates in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver."
See Rallies planned throughout world in support of trade union rights in Mexico (14-19 February 2011) for more information and details regarding rallies.
