MSN thanks supporters for defending Karnation workers in Philippines
A recent email thank you from the Maquila Solidarity Network:
"Dear friends;
On February 26th we asked MSN supporters to join us in defending workers at Karnation Industries in the Philippines, some of whom spent two-and-a-half years in prison following a strike at the factory, and were facing a return to prison after Karnation Industries filed a motion to revoke their bail.
Thank you to all of you who wrote letters on their behalf.
We are pleased to report that the company’s motion to revoke bail was denied by the courts, and that thanks to funds raised by trade unions in the UK and New Zealand, the last of the workers are due to be released on bail shortly."
For more information, see Karnation workers Defeat motion to revoke bail.
