BikeShare Is Dead...Long Live BikeShare
This past December, the Community Bicycle Network (CBN) announced that it's internationally renowned BikeShare programme would be closing due to lack of funds and now Maogosha Pyjor, after six years of exemplary service, is leaving as BikeShare coordinator.
However, Allan Crawford - a staffer with the City of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation department - plans to revive the programme and make it sustainable by operating BikeShare out of the City's community centres and getting support from Canadian Tire and other retailers.
