War: athletic and military
With the 2026 World cup of football aka soccer looming fast a FIFA (world soccer governing body) press deluge is imminent. The 2026 war against Iran of the USA, whose president here schmoozes with FIFA president Gianni Infantino, may, at least for a couple of news cycles, mar FIFA's efforts to “sportswash” the biggest sporting event on planet earth. But an already corruption tarnished tournament, recently sited in human rights violator Qatar, is likely forever already degraded for all but diehard sports fans and so will, after World Cup 2026, occupy a stained position in global consciousness. Contrary to its ambition a new (2025) "social responsibility committee and the award of a hastily contrived "peace prize" to the US president” may thus further expose FIFA's recent malignancy and embed the sport’s return to its historic role of opium for the masses.
